Our Story
The Mesón de la Cava Restaurant opened its doors for the first time in 1967, since then it has been one of the most distinguished restaurants both by the Dominican public and by tourists who visit us from all over the world. This unique restaurant located in a natural limestone cavern, created by the action of the waves when millions of years ago the coast hugged this cliff. These caverns were inhabited by different types of people throughout their history.
This beautiful natural cavern does not allow large decorative designs, on the contrary it has only been necessary to adapt to its great attributes. A great perception of tranquility and calm invades us and disconnects us from the outside world. We have heard this peculiar feeling of isolation on many occasions from our regular customers. Although the first impression is of being underground, the restaurant has three exits at street level.
Located inside a cozy limestone cavern, carved by the action of the waves, you enter through where a stream of water once escaped when the waves beat.
